Omnia Acquires AR Startup SpotKwik to Boost XR Innovation

US-based spatial computing company Omnia has acquired Silicon Valley-funded augmented reality (AR) social commerce startup SpotKwik to enhance its extended reality (XR) offerings for businesses. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. SpotKwik, founded in 2020, initially operated as a B2C social commerce platform, enabling users to virtually try on and purchase products tagged in influencer posts. It later pivoted to a B2B model, partnering with brands like Framekart and Click2Collab.

Omnia, founded in 2021 by Aldo Petruzzelli, provides an ecosystem of web, mobile, and XR components, facilitating content distribution across XR-enabled devices. The company also serves as a marketplace for AR creators and brands, offering spatial experiences to clients such as Tesla and HP. SpotKwik’s co-founder, Mithun Adith, stated that the acquisition will allow the startup to leverage Omnia’s robust distribution network, addressing its previous limitations in this area.

Adith emphasized that the acquisition aligns with the broader goal of transitioning from mobile computing to spatial computing. Omnia plans to integrate SpotKwik’s tech stack into its ecosystem, enhancing its capabilities in AR and XR solutions. This move is expected to strengthen Omnia’s position in the growing spatial computing market, which blends physical and digital experiences for businesses and consumers.

The acquisition marks a significant step for both companies, combining SpotKwik’s innovative AR technology with Omnia’s extensive distribution network and enterprise client base. As the demand for immersive technologies grows, this partnership could pave the way for more advanced XR solutions in the commercial space.
